Fortesa Latifi (journalist and author) shares about her new book Like, Follow, Subscribe: Influencer Kids & the Cost of a Childhood Online. Latifi's work focuses on the largely-unregulated child influencer industry, including helping shed light on the costs of internet fame and ethics of online content. Her work has been featured in Rolling Stone, the New York Times & the Washington Post.
Scott Davis (historian & journalist) also joins the show regarding his new book The Last of the Old Breed: An Oral History of the Final Marines from World War II. Davis runs "The Vietnam Experience" channel on YouTube and has interviewed over 500 veterans of World War II, Korea and Vietnam over the past 10 years.
(Should you be interested in a copy, it's worth noting Davis writes in the beginning of the book: "I have decided, for the sake of transparency, to report the stories exactly as they were told. Topics such as killing or war crimes have not been censored, nor have I altered any derogatory racial language. While I do not condone some of the views expressed, each veteran was encouraged to speak openly, lest we romanticize or glorify the past.")
Tim closes out the show reading Daniel chapter 3 including noting the amazing power of God to the point that Shadrach, Meshach & Abednego--thrown into the fiery furnace--not only came out unharmed and unsinged, but also "there was no smell of fire on them." Whoa Nellie, talk about complete protection and rescue :).
