2. A Prayer for Motivation

We all need a little more motivation from time to time, and Valentine's Day can be a wonderful opportunity to encourage your spouse with a motivating prayer for their current season of life.

Whether they're successfully achieving their goals or struggling to hit the target, offering gifts of motivation can be the perfect boost this holiday.

Bible verses for motivation:

2 Chronicles 15:7 - "But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded."

Proverbs 3:5-6 - "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;

in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

Isaiah 40:31 - "But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

Tangible gift ideas for motivation:

Gracious God, please give my spouse the motivation to do what You've called them to do. Help them rise in the morning with energy and vitality. Let their work be enjoyable and valuable to others. When they're down, Lord, be the lifter of their head, breathing new life into them and boosting their endurance. Help me come alongside them, filling in the gaps when I can and giving them breaks when needed. Thank You for my hard-working spouse. Guard and guide them in the way they should go, in Jesus' name, amen.

3. A Prayer for Unity

Holidays like Valentine's Day and anniversaries provide opportunities for couples to reconnect. Even if you're not getting along, these celebrations usually override the tension—even for a few hours.

This year, why not get ahead of things and begin praying for unity? Pray for your spouse's heart toward God and others. Go boldly to the throne and ask for your marital bond to be strengthened. Pray for the Lord to reveal the obstacles standing in the way of unity, and be willing to address your own part.

Consider these Bible verses:

1 Corinthians 1:10 - "I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought."

2 Corinthians 13:11 - "Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you."

4. A Prayer for God's Love

How often have you prayed for God's love to be made known to your spouse in mighty ways? What a powerful way to bless them this Valentine's Day!

Meditate on these Bible verses:

Psalm 86:5 ESV - "For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you."

Ephesians 2:4 - "But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved."

Romans 8:35&37 NLT - "Can anything ever separate us from Christ's love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us."

Holy God, You are merciful and mighty, and I pray for Your love to be shown to my spouse in wonderful ways. From when they wake up in the morning to when their head hits the pillow, let them know without a doubt that You love them unconditionally. Wrap Your hedge of comfort around them, helping them feel safe, protected, and guarded against the influences of the enemy. Remind them of the joy of their salvation through Christ Jesus, filling their heart with immense gratitude for what You've done. Thank You for my spouse, Lord, and for another opportunity to celebrate Valentine's Day in a special way. Let these prayers be more valuable than any gift I could give. In Your Son's precious name, amen.
